Love coming here for pho ga, always so good and fresh! They do run out of dark meat quick so do get there before dinner time, especially weekends.

My family and I recently stumbled upon an amazing pho spot while waiting for a table at one of our favorite restaurants nearby. Faced with a 45-minute to one-hour wait, we decided to explore the area and try something new. That's when we found this gem specializing in chicken pho, including unique options where they actually add chicken liver and gizzards. From the first sip of the broth to the last bite of tender chicken, I can confidently say it was the best chicken pho I've ever had in my entire life! The flavors were rich and well-balanced, making each spoonful a delight. The chicken liver and gizzards added a fantastic depth of flavor that set this pho apart from any other I've tried. I'm usually not a big fan of chicken pho! The customer service was cool and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Plus, there's ample parking and plenty of other restaurants in the area, so you can easily make a day out of exploring this little town center. Talking about this pho spot makes me eager to return soon. If you're a fan of pho or just looking for an extraordinary meal, this place is a must-visit! I'm going back for the rice dishes next time! Or maybe I'll stick to what I got the first time!!

Favorite chicken pho in the area. I love how they have the chicken on a separate plate and you can dip it into the broth as you like. It helps keep the texture of the chicken. The broth is nice and light, and the chicken is chewy in the best way. The chicken is super moist and the skin has the best texture, not too soft and mushy. I also love how you can get different innards with the pho as well as young chicken egg. It sounds weird but the egg is soo good. The fish sauce dipping sauce is well balanced. The restaurant itself is very big and there is a lot of staff. Because of that, service is really quick. Parking is also easy because of the huge plaza. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Vibes: 5/5

Pho Dakao is the place i go to for phở gà. i always get the phở gà đùi khô (dry version) with mề gà (chicken gizzards). i like the sauce that comes with the dry version more than the usual ginger fish sauce. this place is always busy during lunch time so usually i go during the off hours but be aware they sometimes run out of items after a certain time. service is decent, you just have to flag the servers when you need something. place is pretty clean and even my mom who is picky with viet food likes this place.

We had: phở gà (chicken pho) with mề gà (chicken gizzard). My thoughts: Overall their chicken pho is pretty good. I like the broth because its clean yet flavorful and the chicken is always tender. I usually don't eat chicken pho but when I do, Pho Dakao is usually my go to place. Their main thing is pho but they also have other Vietnamese dishes that you can try:)

I heard about this place from Fr Brandon's homily at SF Solano, of all things. He was using it to make a theological point. Anyway Pho Dakao has a full menu but most everyone orders the Pho Ga so Pho Ga it is. My wife ordered the classic soup, I asked for the dry version which is a new experience for me. The chicken bits are stir fried before plated with bean sprouts, lettuce and noodles. Drizzle in the sauce which seems to be fish and soy sauce based. It comes with a solid chicken broth. Once I got over the novelty I think I prefer the classic soup. I tasted my wife's and it's quite good. To be honest, I prefer Pho Ga Hai Van's. You can ask them to debone the meat, the dipping sauce is better (more ginger), napkin dispenser at each table, more generous with extra bean sprouts and herbs. We had no issues with the service. The space is nicely decorated and the parking is roomy and plentiful.

We came an hour before they closed so they were out of the chicken dark meats and the gizzards. A little sad since that's what they're known for, but understandable since it was late. We ended up ordering their pho and it hit the spot. Will need to come back for their other dishes! Large space and lots of seating too. Service was also very fast and friendly

This place has the best pho ga! They use chicken broth which makes for a "cleaner" tasting broth. In other words, you don't get that phlegm-inducing feeling of clearing your throat after you eat a bowl of their pho. The broth is very rich in flavor and pairs with their thick cut noodles perfectly. PROS: fast service, tasty food, decent pricing w large serving portions CONS: extra $1 for all to-go orders, Hainan rice is inconsistent - sometimes really flavorful and delicious, other times not worth the extra money to substitute. My go-to orders: * #19 Garlic Butter Fried Chicken with side salad & rice (5/5 stars) * Their chicken is crispy on the outside, yet still juicy on the inside. It's already well-seasoned but I suggest dipping pieces into the sauce before taking a bite. The salad always comes out fresh and is a nice refreshing addition to all the fried foods in this order. It has a light dressing (not sure exactly what it is) but it pairs well. I always get this dish with rice although there is also an option for fries. Sometimes I even sub the white rice for hainan rice but I've found that the flavor can be hit-or-miss. I've bought this a handful of times as takeout to eat for lunch the next day. The flavor isn't compromised and is just as tasty the day after! * #24 Fresh Noodles with White Meat Chicken (5/5 stars) * Soo soooo good. If you want chicken broth pho ga this is the place to go. Their chicken tastes fresher than other places in the area. I appreciate how the chicken is served on the side and is still juicy. Ginger dipping sauce for the chicken is provided as well. The flavor is strong but I don't mind it. I actually prefer it that way. Bowl of pho is served hot with thicker cut noodles. Bean sprouts and mint provided as well. Overall, no complaints at all.

One of the best chicken pho in town! I have eaten chicken pho at a variety of places around Orange County and needless to say, this place nails it when it comes to this kind of food. The restaurant was located in the same area with the Vox Kitchen on Brookhurst St in Fountain Valley. Lots of parking so you don't need to worry about this. We came to Pho Dakao on several occasions. Some of our friends tried their beef pho, but we always stick with chicken pho whenever we got here, because it was a lot better than their beef one. They give you the option to chose the kind of chicken meat that you want (thigh, breast, dark meat vs white meat, ...). I have tried everything and they all tasted pretty good, so eventually this just came down to one's preference. Broth was flavorful so I really enjoyed slurping it with my noodle. Service here could be a hit or miss. Sometimes they were pretty slow to get us seated or get the food done but sometimes it could be pretty quickly. The place can be jam-packed on the weekends so be prepared to wait a bit if you get here during peak hours.
